As astute and faithful readers will have noted, I enjoy making Model T trucks in 1:20.3 scale, using plans from Garden Railways magazine. The latest effort is an enclosed 1921 van. Previous models have been a stake truck and a water tanker....

This model, as with the others, has a plywood chassis, balsa-wood engine and transmission...

and front and rear suspension complete with leaf springs

..that Model T radiator is scratch-built from styrene and the headlights came from an old AMT kit. The crank handle is welding rod with a brass tube grip.

The diff and rear axle are made of styrene tubing, an old piece of towel rail and shoe eyelets...

..and that exhaust pipe is a piece of knitting needle...

the van was delivered to its new owner by one of the Toenail Ridge Shortline's scratch-built flatcars..

And another truck has rolled out of the assembly plant, this time a Tow truck.
